WE ARE WISCONSIN is a feature documentary film that follows the day-to-day unfolding of public outcry against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's controversial budget-repair bill, focusing on the human story behind a remarkable popular uprising forged on the floor of the Madison Capitol. This film is stunning audiences across the globe, as it exposes the real truth behind the worldwide economic collapse, tracing its origins to a 1971 secret memo entitled Attack on American Free Enterprise System. Written over 40 years ago by the future Supreme Court Justice Lewis Powell, at the behest of the US Chamber of Commerce, the 6-page memo, a free-market utopian treatise, called for a money fueled big business makeover of government through corporate control of the media, academia, the pulpit, arts and sciences and destruction of organized labor and consumer protection groups.

Slow Money national gatherings are quickly emerging as a significant new venue for field building, investing and social change. More than 1000 people from 34 states and several foreign countries attended our first two national gatherings, and more than $4.25 million has been invested in 16 of the presenting small food enterprises. The newest Free Range/Story of Stuff video explores the crisis of corporate influence in American democracy and was inspired by the January 2010 Supreme Court decision that gave corporations the right to spend unlimited funds to influence elections. We made the movie because we believe getting corporations out of our democracy is critical to making progress on a huge range of issues that we Americans (and many others around the world) care about, from good jobs to clean air to safe products.
