March Against Monsanto has announced that on May 25, tens of thousands of activists around the world will "March Against Monsanto." Currently, marches are being planned on six continents, in 36 countries, totaling events in over 250 cities, and in the US, events are slated to occur simultaneously at 11 a.m. Pacific in 47 states. Earth Week Roundup and Free Films

Wow, Earth Week was an amazing week for transformational media!  There were over 1000 community/home screenings of Do The Math, 350.orgs hot new film showing the dire need for climate change action!  Many TV channels did a great job of bringing environmental films to their viewers including the broadcast premier of Chasing Ice on National Geographic Channel, the US broadcast premiere of Carbon Nation on Current TV, and a whole line up on the Documentary Channel including some of our AwareGuide favorites such as Bag It!, Save The Farm, and Cafeteria Man.

Its Earth Month and there is a fantastic amount of activity happening around films.  Common Ground Magazine featured an article on the Rise of Environmental Films and Festivals in its current issue. Check out the films mentioned, or see the theatrical launch of Bidder 70.  Friday 4/19 starts off Earth Day celebrations with the Academy Award nominated Chasing Ice on National Geographic Channel for those who prefer to stay home and keep their carbon footprint to a minimum.

New Season

For many people the summer ends on Labor Day, while I have always been one of those people who hold on until the Fall Equinox to declare that summer is over. This year its not been a summer vacation, but we have been quiet and in a reconstruction mode with the AwareGuide and I am very excited to start this new season with some of the new people and technologies. Stay tuned for exciting announcements over the next few weeks, both about the AwareGuide and many exciting new films that are launching! Samsara, the new visual music masterpiece from the…

Earth Week Media

Happy Earth Day! What a great time for not just environmental films, but so many films launching about raising awareness of so many subjects.  One Day on Earth premiered on Earth Day to show what is happening around the world on a single day. To show how the world is changing NYC hosted its first Green Festival which was livestreamed, and Earth Day Dallas was one of the country's largest events highlighted by the Artfully Green Film Festival. Another Earth Day premiere was The First 70, a beautiful exploration of the 70 state parks that California is looking to close…

Cold Winter Hot Movies

As we settle into the rhythm of the new year of 2012 this is shaping up to be a great year for transformational media.  The movie "Sing Your Song" which premiered at Sundance last year opens in NYC and LA area.  This film moved me more than any other at Sundance and is a great story of the life of Harry Belfonte and how his music moved people, and how he blended that with his activism to be an important part of the civil rights movement, and other movements of social justice.
